Frances brings a positive and reassuring temperament to her work at COGA. Highly experienced in her field, Frances collaborates closely with the gynaecologists/obstetricians to provide personalised and thorough maternal care to our patients.

After completing her nursing studies in New Zealand, Frances travelled overseas with her qualification and ended up staying in the UK for 10 years. It was here that she developed a professional interest in maternal health, and studied midwifery at King’s College. Upon her return to Christchurch she acted as a lead maternity carer (LMC) and has been with COGA since February 2022. For Frances, a highlight of working with COGA is the friendly, collegial nature of the practice as well as having plenty of time to talk to her patients.

Frances loves working with women because although our physical experiences are universal – periods, menopause, motherhood and the rest – each woman is totally individual. She particularly loves helping women understand their extraordinary anatomy and why it functions as it does.

Frances calls the peaceful Heathcote Valley home, and outside work can be found nurturing her (very popular) talent – baking!
